Ron is a multidisciplinary artist based in Atlanta GA. After earning his MFA in Painting and Drawing at Ohio University, he has since exhibited and taught across North America, Asia, and Europe. He has participated in numerous artist residencies including RaumaArs AIR, in Rauma Finland, Popps Packing in Hamtramck, MI, KunstDoc in South Korea, and Het Wilde Weten in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Along with travel, collaborating across disciplines is central to his work. Most recently while in China he consulted with researchers at Nanjing University’s Biomedical Engineering and Applied Sciences college to create practical and theoretical designs and instruments. He has also worked with linguists specializing phonological representations at the USC’s Signal Analysis and Interpretation Laboratory and astrophysicists at Caltech and Astronomers Without Borders. His artwork has been supported by a number of granting organizations including the New York Foundation for the Arts, New York State Council for the Arts, the Finlandia Foundation, The Center for Cultural Innovation in Los Angeles, and the Korean Modem and Contemporary Research Institute. Ultimately, Ron finds joy in the theoretical aspects of contemporary art in tandem with material explorations leading to the realization of an object, environment, or an event.
